Support Group

Support GroupSurvivors at any stage of cancer recognize the need to live their lives’ at the fullest.  Our survivors and patient navigators at Familias en Acción’s support group have made it their commitment to celebrate their survivorship with camaraderie, compassion and encouragement at each of the monthly support groups throughout the year. Our survivors have faced cancer, barriers to care or a lack thereof, deportation, unemployment, discrimination and have still found refuge in their spirituality to survive and live at their best. They have made Familias en Acción’s support group a refuge and safe haven for their fellow survivors and welcome new survivors to find support amongst them and celebrate life together.

Familias en Acción is proud to organize a monthly support group for Latino cancer patients/survivors, their families and friends. Please extend this invitation to Spanish speaking members of the Latino community so they may participate in peer based support as well as a discussion facilitated by a health expert on how to live stronger and healthier as a survivor. The group will allow further identifying of support needs specific to Latino survivors and offer a venue to share their survivorship stories in a comfortable setting.
